چکیده
Soil salinity is increasing due to several factors such as climate change and areas with uneven rainfall. This increase in level of compelled the cotton breeders develop a new germplasm that exhibit suitable for salty soil. study aimed determine salt tolerance 50 accessions Gossypium hirsutum hydroponic conditions having three levels NaCl, i.e., 0 mM, 150 200 mM. The experiment was carried out completely randomized design factorial arrangement. Morphological, physiological, biochemical attributes were estimated these genotypes. Na+/K+ ratio determined by dry digestion method. Salt-susceptible -tolerant genotypes identified biplot cluster analysis. showed significant differences morphophysiological parameters. In control, Cyto-515 enhanced growth shoot length (30.20 cm), root (20.63 fresh weight (2.34 g), (0.93 while under mM levels, MNH-992 had maximum (15.67 cm) (24.67 cm). At level, antioxidants found Kehkshan CIM-595, at AA-703, values antioxidants. highest observed VH-363 FH-114, lowest ratio. analysis revealed Kehkshan, VH-330, Cyto-178, MNH-992, widely dispersed distant from origin, exhibiting variability traits stress. terms performance across treatments, Cyto-515, CIM-595 performed significantly better. Peroxidase activity, proline contents, H2O2 determination, shown be useful selection criteria. potential tolerant (MNH-992, CIM-595) could assessed after planting affected used breeding programs development diverse upland cotton.

متن کاملEffect of Waterlogging on Carbohydrate Metabolism and the Quality of Fiber in Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)
Transient waterlogging occurs frequently in the Yangtze River and adversely affects cotton fiber quality. However, the carbohydrate metabolic mechanism that affects fiber quality after waterlogging remains undescribed. Here, the effects of five waterlogging levels (0, 3, 6, 9, and 12 days) were assessed during flowering and boll formation to characterize the carbohydrates, enzymes and genes tha...

Effect of Nitrogen on Seed Cotton Yield and Fiber Qualities of Cotton (gossypium Hirsutum L.) Cultivars
Seed cotton yield and fiber qualities may be significantly altered by a number of agronomic practices. The present study investigates the effect of nitrogen levels on cotton cultivar's seed cotton yield and fiber quality traits. Three cotton cultivars (NIAB-111, CIM496 and FH901) were tested against four nitrogen levels (0, 60, 120 and 180 kg ha) to check reliability, the highest yielding and g...
